Segway Riders

Posted: October 7, 2010 in Downtown

What better way to take in the Capitol building than to ride a segway through the driveway?

Maybe it’s because I’ve never ridden a segway, or maybe its because I don’t wish upon myself to look like an idiot in public, but I just don’t understand these people.

The only thing dumber than buying a segway is to rent one for an hour from someone who bought 10 of them for their business.

Someone please explain this to us!

The classic Austin play on words

Was walking around Cantina Laredo and the Royal Blue Grocery on 3rd Street and saw this sign. OIA

The Unicycle

Nothing special today. Just came across a group of unicyclists going about their day on 6th and San Jacinto

Before OIA called Austin home things like this would be laughed at or shocking but after living here a while you get used to it and it becomes part of the regular.

Just another reason why Austin is one of the coolest cities in the U.S.

If there’s one thing that OIA loves to see around town it’s gotta be the sense of humor and sharp wit on the signs of business around town.

Whether it’s the Salt Lick BBQ saying “you can smell our pits from miles away” or Little Woodrows (which in OIA’s opinion has some of the funniest in town), you’re bound to laugh when you see these.

In the case of OIA, the signs tend to get better as the alcohol flows…I’m blaming you Woodrows! For the record the pitchers there are better than the Astros.

When the weather changes so do peoples wardrobes. It’s starting to feel like fall and I knew that an Only In Austin moment was bound to appear today.

A few hours into the day I came across Scooby Doo riding his bike.

Had to say OIA!
